Students in Ms. Roger's Art class drew and colored dragon's eyes. Students worked on shading and detail for a small piece.
8th grade students in Ms. Triggs ELA classes completed a gallery walk on historical images as an introduction to their new unit on the Holocaust. Students chose the image that they wanted to respond to at each stop in the gallery walk and wrote a description of the image, what they learned from it, their response to the image and how they can connect to it.
7th grade students in Ms. McClelland's and Ms. Hall's ELA classes have been creating a character web for the novel they are currently reading, Red Scarf Girl. Students have been responsible for creating the cards and images that represent each character and webbing them together.

Experiment Time in 8th Grade Science! Students in both Ms. Meadows and Mr. Madelo's classes used their knowledge of microscopes to observe different samples under magnification. Students then completed a lab report on their experiment.
Thank you to everyone who celebrated National Beach Day today! Also, congratulations to our Rock, Paper, Scissors Winners. 6th Grade: Lilli Green and Julio Toro. 7th Grade: Ivy Brick and Leila Morgan. 8th Grade: Izzy Fetty and Mitchel Strankonsky. Students participated in a Rock, Paper, Scissor Tournament and other Beach Day festivities during lunch.
Students in Ms. Friend's Agriculture Science classes completed some fun beginning of the year activities to start the year. First, students used Play-Doh to create their names and then completed a gallery walk to learn each other's names. Then, later in the week, students used Legos to create a representation of what they think agriculture means.

Volleyball Conditioning starts Tuesday July 16th from 2:30 to 4:30 Monday to Friday in the gym up to the day of tryouts. (Tryout date TBD by the new head coach)
REQUIRED :: physical dated after May 1st, 2024
WHAT TO BRING:
Plenty of water, knee pads if you have them and a positive attitude.
Coach Crouse will be running conditioning with Coach Robinson stopping in when she can.

6th Grade students in Ms. Ervine's classes used the engineering design process to create towers using pencils that can hold the weight of an apple. Students enjoyed coming up with designs and measuring their creations.
8th Grade students in Ms. Sinoy's Math classes prepared for the WVGSA by completing a Question Trail. Students enjoyed solving problems and the weather as they completed the trail outside.

Student in Ms. Hollcroft's ELA classes completed a gallery walk as test prep for the WVGSA. Students identified test question types and the amount of answers needed for each question.
7th Grade students in Science classes taught by Ms. Narsolis completed a question trail on the depletion of natural resources as part of their renewable and non-renewable resource unit. Students' answers choices led them to the next question.
6th Grade students attended an assembly led by Mr. William Herndon from the Fire Marshall's Office in Loudoun County. He was joined by Bali, an accelerant detection canine. Mr. Herndon shared about his job, cases he has worked on, and showed a demonstration of what Bali has been trained to do.
