🎶 Congratulations to Natalia Davis, Harper Valasek, and Eva Burns on being selected to represent JCS at this year's WV All-State Children's Chorus! They spent several months learning nine musical selections for the event - three of which were in a foreign language! ATTENTION: The boil water notice for Charles Town and Ranson will extend through Thursday, 3/9. JCS will again provide bottled water for Washington High, Charles Town Middle, Wright Denny Intermediate, OLC, and Ranson Elementary Schools. We encourage anyone who can safely bring water from home to do so again. Thank you to our incredible staff in the JCS Maintenance Department, who worked quickly to provide schools with water today and made sure they would be ready for Thursday.
A BIG thank you to the JCS Maintenance Department for delivering over 3,000 bottles of water to CTMS this morning due to the boil water notice. Students will have access to water bottles in each class as well as the cafeteria during lunch.
March 8, 2023: In response to the boil water notice issued for Charles Town and Ranson water customers, Jefferson County Schools will provide bottled water for Washington High School, Charles Town Middle School, Wright Denny Intermediate School, Ranson Elementary School, and the OLC. Anyone who can safely bring their own water from home in addition to these resources is encouraged to do so. We'll have updates based on the progress of repair work. Congratulations to our own Janet Harner! Janet received West Virginia's first-ever West Virginia Executive Secretary of the Year Award, which was also named in her honor! We are all excited to see this well-deserved recognition for Janet's decades of dedicated service. Reminder- track starts Monday, 2/27 - 3:00-4:30. Students will meet in the gym after school. Must have a 2.0 GPA and a sports physical on file or one to turn in to participate.
Students in Ms. Pulsifer's classes recently took part in two exciting science labs! First, they earned an extra "star" for their impressive work in a starfish dissection lab as they identified internal and external characteristics of the sea creatures. Next, student-made density towers demonstrated how different substances interact… or not. Labs like these definitely make learning fun!
Students at Driswood Elementary celebrated Black History Month with a schoolwide assembly featuring the Charles Town Middle School choir, under the direction of music teacher Lindsay Dove, accompanied by award-winning gospel composer, singer, and songwriter Maharold Peoples, Jr. The special guests performed two songs of cultural and historical significance, including "Lift Every Voice and Sing." Thanks to Mr. Peoples and CTMS students for this musical treat!

🎶 Students from all four middle schools came together Friday for an ensemble performance at Jefferson High School. The JCS Middle School All-County Honor Choir included top vocal students across the district who spent the day rehearsing together for an ensemble performance that evening. The group also enjoyed performances by vocal ensembles from Jefferson and Washington High Schools. Bravo to all! 🎶

Good morning CTMS Families,
Our priority at Charles Town Middle School is the safety of students and staff. Sharing accurate information with you is a critical part of providing that support. This morning, we called emergency responders to our school to support a student having a medical emergency. There was NO DANGER to other students or staff; however, to further ensure everyone's safety and privacy, a “hold” was put in place. We are grateful to our emergency responders for partnering with us to keep our school safe. January 23, 2023: A student at Charles Town Middle School allegedly made a threat during an outdoor activity this morning. Following our protocol, administrators took immediate steps to ensure the safety of students. There is NO DANGER at this time; however, we are continuing to work with law enforcement in support of their investigation. We appreciate their ongoing efforts to keep our school safe.
